24 Jun 2019 First, some history. There was a gas station operating under the Texaco brand at Queen Anne Avenue North and Roy Street from 1927 to 1993.
In March 1901 Cullinan, with two other promoters, incorporated the Texas Fuel Company at Beaumont. These notes consist of information which I (with appreciable assistance) have been able to piece together on the corporate history of INDIAN REFINING COMPANY, INCORPORATED, the origins of HAVOLINE Motor Oil, and (to a lesser extent) the history of The Texas Company / Texaco Inc. Emphasis was placed on INDIAN REFINING COMPANY, and on an accurate account of HAVOLINE's early days, since 1981: Texaco introduces its new Star logo which is used to the present day in Ireland. 2001: Texaco Inc and Chevron Corporation merge to create the ChevronTexaco Corporation, which becomes Chevron Corporation in 2007 - one of the world's largest corporations based on market capitalisation built around three well recognised international brands - Texaco, Chevron and Caltex. Texaco, 37 F.3d 882 (2d Cir. 1994), affirming the lower court's holding rejecting Texaco's claim of fair use but setting forth different reasons. On April 24, 1995 Texaco filed its petition before the U. S. Supreme Court, and the library and information associations planned to petition the court to allow them to file a friend of the court brief in support of Texaco.
